AN ASSOCIATION BETWEEN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AND A CLINICAL PERIODONTAL PARAMETER: POCKET DEPTH

Objectives: To find out an association between type 2 diabetes mellitus and a clinical periodontal parameter i.e Pocket depth.Materials Methods: This research(case control) was performed in two hospitals of Peshawar, Prime Teaching hospital Peshawar Dental hospital. Type Diabetics with Periodontal problem,referred tothe Periodontology departments both the from June 2018 to January 2019, were included our study. Patient having no periodontitis visiting department hospitalswere controls Basic examination non-Diabetics patients done ward dental college.Glycated hemoglobin test (HbA1C) Non-Diabetics patient laboratory Hospital. Results: The correlation analysis subjects establish durable linkamong Diabetes Depth (rs=0.788).The average observed study is 3.70mm ± 1.28. In control group have depth 1.42mm± 0.94.Conclusion: We conclude that diabetic compared non-diabetic similar age, gender, socio-economic status, level education oral hygiene measures higher incidence disease.
